Parent Testimonials
Our family had a wonderful experience with Las Luciernagas. Our son attended the 2014-2015 school year when he was 2 - 3 years old. The director and teachers are so nurturing and responsive to the kids. They truly care for them and come from a place of love in everything they do. Our son received lots of individual attention because the class size is small. This helped him form close bonds with his teachers. He gained so much confidence through the movement based learning. And he had so much fun in the gym with his classmates. It's a really special place and we highly recommend it.
- Heather M. In 2013-2014 our daughter attended Las Luciérnagas Preschool at Project Commotion. It was like a second family for her. Las Luciérnagas organizes education based on the insight that children learn best while being active and engaged in physical activity. The most obvious example of this was the wonderful gym, where the kids tumble, create obstacle courses and practice capoeira! She also made important strides in her Spanish language skills, and learned the value of healthy eating through the focus on exploring wholesome organic foods. Most of all, the staff were all lovely and the creative, open learning environment was exactly what she needed to grow her confidence. Based on our experience we would definitely recommend Las Luciernagas to other parents looking to give their kids exposure to Spanish in pre-school and also important lessons in self-confidence and healthy living. - Magnus C. Our middle child came to Project Commotion through the recommendation of a friend. We had an amazing experience and remain friends with many of the children and families who were a part of our LL/PC experience. The teachers offer individual attention as well as extensive community building. The indoor play gym and regular excursions meant that the children get an exceptional amount of movement within a school context. In addition, our family went through a stressful time in the midst of our time at the school, due to my husband’s accident, and the school community and teachers supported us and in particular our son throughout this stressful time. If you are looking for the combination of close attention, language immersion, and learning through movement in a safe, loving environment, Las Luciérnagas is the place to be! - Jennifer S. My son loved the Project Commotion preschool, especially the warm, engaging teachers and the opportunity to run around in a fantastic gym space while learning to do new things with his body. The field trips were also very special, and he still talks about them. - Julie C. |
